Dr. Reena Kuba and her assistants, Laura and Lauren, of Irving, TX attended the Academy of Laser Dentistry’s successful Infant/Pediatric Oral Health Symposium: Integration of Infants in a Dental Laser Practice—A Multidisciplinary Approach, November 11-12, 2016 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The Symposium hosted 12 speakers and 57 attendees. This diverse group of health professionals is exemplary in their discipline, and involved in the assessment and treatment of infants with oral restrictions. The 1.5 day program included panel discussions to collaborate on the benefits of a holistic approach to pediatric patient care with improved research models. A vendor showcase by dental laser manufacturers provided an interactive component to the program. Attendees were able to practice hands-on dental laser procedures discussed in speaker presentations.
Symposium speakers included pediatricians, orafacial myofunctional doctors, pediatric dentists, breastfeeding medical experts, a restorative breathing specialist, and laser safety professionals. A vast amount of subject matter was covered, including Tongue Tie/Upper Lip Tie, Restorative Breathing, Orafacial Myofunctional Disorders and Treatment, Pediatric Application and Integrations of Lasers in Dentistry, and Laser Safety practices and equipment.
Dr. Reena Kuba is proud to participate in continuing dental education programs to keep abreast of new procedures to better serve her patients.
The Symposium was created by Dr. Rishita Jaju, a private pediatric dentist in Reston VA, and Dr. Annette Skowronski, a private general dentist in Selby Township, MI.
